New Journal 61 – Looking for good albums and TV series

I’m not much of a TV watcher, although I love a good film when I have time to watch one. A couple of years ago Rachel and I started filling airport waiting time, and any other waiting time when reading wasn’t an option, with watching TV series like the Sopranos. We hadn’t watched any TV series before then. So, we got hooked on a few others including Dexter. We haven’t seen the final season and have been strongly advised not to!

With some trips planned for the near future, I’m on the hunt for new TV series if anyone has any recommendations. Breaking Bad is on our list but I’m open to ideas for others. I’m also hunting for some good lesser-known bands (not pop music) to provide the sound track to said trips πŸ™‚ Again, if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Today’s Photo – Kuala Lumpur at Night

It took only a few seconds to restore the blown-out areas of the towers by blending the two exposures using my Rapid Blend If (RBI) technique that I teach in my Cityscape Tutorials.

The overall workflow was a simple one. With just some basic colour corrections, lens distortion corrections and dodging of the clouds, I was finished. I considered throwing some fireworks into the sky but when I attempted it they were out of place. Their presence wasn’t reflected by a change in luminosity and colour to match the fireworks in the nearby buildings. They looked too superimposed. Instead, I was happy to keep it basic and natural.
