Top Gambling Destinations in the World

It is never too late to plan a fabulous holiday. Some prefer to go skiing on the most dangerous and challenging slopes in the world. Others would rather lounge around the hot and sunny beaches by the ocean. But there are also plenty who prefer sightseeing in the world’s biggest metropolises. It just so happens that many of these cities are also spectacular gambling hubs.

Atlantic City, New Jersey

Atlantic City may not be as popular as Las Vegas. But the city has its own unique charm which has earned it the moniker the Sin City of the East Coast. It was the first state in the USA to legalize online casinos, which have now dominated the world. New Jersey remains the most successful US state in terms of iGaming. But websites like Casino Days operate beyond just a single country.

Atlantic City is more than just an American gambling capital. It is home to gorgeous beaches and top resorts. The city has fabulous nightclubs and bars that are elevating the city’s nightlife. The MGM Tower looms over the city and attracts the gaze any traveler who ventures within. However, it is not A.C.’s only gambling establishment.

The Caesars is Atlantic City’s best-rated casino by far. To stay at the Caesars is to live like royalty. It is a rather expansive resort at close to $100 a night. But it is all worth it for those who can afford it. Guests can enjoy an incredible bar and delicious food at the hotel restaurant. The resort also runs a secure business making it perfect for those who want to feel safe.

A.C. also has a ton of hotels and residencies for those who’d like to spend a more modest amount of money. The best part is that most of these residencies are near the center, so you will still have the opportunity to play at some of the best casinos in the country. If you are housed away from the action you need not worry. Atlantic City is famous for its speedy taxis that can take you anywhere in a timely manner.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is to the West Coast what Atlantic City is to the East. Though some may say that Vegas is a lot more. It is not just the American gambling center; but also the biggest tourist destination in the world. It is the home of some of the finest hotels, greatest casinos, and a whole slew of risqué shows that would leave anyone excited and titillated.

The Las Vegas Strip is one of the United States of America’s most exorbitant and attractive destinations. A walk down the Strip is on most people’s bucket lists, as it is one of those places that everyone is aware of. One could compare the Strip to Times Square or the Brooklyn Bridge.

But, the best part about Vegas is that it has something for everyone. If you are not into gambling, and would prefer to go clubbing, Sin City has you covered. It is home to some of the finest, most exclusive clubs in the country. If you get a chance to enter, you will certainly be treated to a crazy night of fun, dancing, drinking, and much more.

Las Vegas is also world-renowned for its magic, dancing, and burlesque shows. Tickets for the Tournament of Kings, Criss Angel, and the Fantasy Burlesque sell months in advance, and for quite a high price too. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these fantastic performances. But for those who are visiting the city on a budget; there is a lot more to witness.

There are a lot of fun things to do outside the social side. The Mafia Museum shares a lot of the city’s history and its ties to the American crime families. The history of Las Vegas is intricately tied with the American mafia. It was founded by a many called Bugsy. Barry Levinson’s 1991 film on the subject perfectly brings the tale to life on the big screen.

Macau, China

When most people think gambling, they tend to not think of China. It is one of those countries with a pretty restrictive policy regarding all forms of gambling, including online. However, the special administrative region of China, Macau is the exception to the rule. Within the city, gambling is perfectly legal. In fact, Macau is home to some of the greatest gambling resorts in the world.

Unlike in the west, where blackjack is the most dominating sport, the people of China seem to prefer Baccarat. So, if that is your game, Macau is the city for you. There are so many baccarat tables at Macau’s casinos, that there is rarely anyone being left out of the game. Some of the big casinos number upwards of 20 tables. This is why a lot of people call Macau the Capital of Baccarat.

As far as gambling is concerned, Macau was, up until recently, the world’s capital of gambling, with the amount of wagers even exceeding those placed in Las Vegas. However, in the 2020s, Las Vegas has overtaken the Chinese city, and currently is the king of gambling. Still, Macau remains an incredibly popular destination, not just for gamblers, but tourists as well.

Indeed, if you aren’t much for casinos, Macau still has some incredible sights worth seeing. Macau was one of the first Chinese regions to make contact with European traders. Tourists can certainly see that side of the city’s history by taking a light stroll through its center. Chinese temples coexist with ruins of Catholic churches; reminding us all of the trading history between the two worlds.

Macau is home to the ruins of what would have been the oldest and biggest catholic church in all of Asia at one point. There is also a temple to the Chinese goddess of fortune, that is built in a more traditional style. So, if that sounds like something that you might enjoy, then look into Macau for your next holiday.
