New Journal 51 – Acclimatising

join-me-on-facebook

I’m slowing getting a decent sleep and work patter since returning to the UK. The weather is unpredictable, but that can make for some amazing sunset. Since Betsy is now road legal, I’ll be driving up and down the UK to shoot Any suggestions on good spots would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment I’m working hard to create a whole new set of video tutorials on digital blending cityscapes, which are a breed in their own to google_plus_circle_me process.

Above all, I’m keeping myself motivated – not an easy task when you’re boss-less.

Today’s Photo – Sunrise at the Canyon

Returning from Mesa Arch, I saw this lovely view on the side of the road and pulled over to shoot it handheld, hence the iso of 250. The balance of light on the original image, as you can see, was fairly flat. This image, I felt, relied heavily on having certainly elements illuminated in both the foreground and background. I used a basic Lasso tool and a Levels layer to achieve this, as well as the always amazing, Darken/Lighten Centre filter in Nik Color Efex.

Jimmy, this is amazing. Definitely a wall hanging if I ever saw one. I’m glad you had a great time in the US. 🙂
